Pregnant patrol officer whose personal physician restricts the officer to light duty during the term of pregnancy. Employee does not have enough time on books to take paid leave. We are a small agency with no light duty assignments of that duration. I'm curious as to what other agencies, particularly those under 40 sworn have done in similar circumstances?

The issue is an officer is the subject of an IA complaint. In response to being directed to an administrative interview, the officer sends in a note from a doctor stating that they are under too much stress to be interviewed. Frequently, the doctor's note will carry an admonishment to the department stating "stay away" from the officer. What are departments doing in this type of case?
