Homegrown Extremists and Domestic Terrorism Summit 

Law Enforcement leaders across the country are responding to community concerns about Mass Violence Attacks and Homegrown Violent Extremists activity. Understanding potential motivations, warning signs, trends and efforts by State and Federal law enforcement partners can help local Chiefs and Sheriffs respond to their communities. 

On Wednesday, November 13, 2019, the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) will be hosting the California Police Chiefs Association (CPCA) and the California State Sheriffs’ Association (CSSA) at Cal OES headquarters in Mather, CA.  

Attendees will be briefed by representatives from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC), California State Threat Assessment Center (STAC), and Cal OES on domestic violent extremism (DVE) and homegrown violent extremism (HVE). Homeland Security Advisor (HSA) and Director of Cal OES, Mark Ghilarducci, will also be present to welcome and brief the CPCA and CSSA on the Creating Safer Communities program.

The summit is open to Police Chiefs, Sheriffs, and their Seconds in Command.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be in writing and emailed to Shannon Mahoney. Cancellations received at least 20 days prior to the beginning of the course date will receive a full refund. Cancellations received between 19 days and 10 days will be subject to a $50 administrative fee. Cancellations received less than 10 days prior to the event will not receive a refund. Registrations are transferable, all changes must be made 10 days prior to the start of the course. NO SHOWS forfeit full registration fee. Course fees are NOT transferable after the last course date.
