This three-day course will be presented in a blended, group dynamic, lecture and panel format. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions from a panel of current police chiefs and to interact and build relationships with their peers. This course is designed not only for current Chief’s Executive Assistants, but also for those who fill-in during their absence, as well as those who are on the path to becoming an executive assistant in the future.

Technology is ever-changing and once you get used to one software program, it changes! We've added a special section taught by a technology expert that specializes in online and electronic time management. Come and learn the in-and-outs and tricks of the trade on programs such as Outlook and Excel. We will teach you how to effectively organize yourself and your Chief using modern technology. A laptop is not required for this portion of the course.

Your Instructors

Retired Chief Deb Linden of San Luis Obispo PD and current Executive Assistant, Melanie Randel of the City of Citrus Heights are the core instructors of the course and are teaming up to bring you information based on their years of experience and up-to-date information from the law enforcement industry.

Other presenters include Derek Crawford of Software Solutions Team on electronic communication and Greg Palmer of Jones-Mayer on legal issues.
