Now that the RIPA Stop Data Collection Reports are out and all agencies throughout the State are now collecting data, agencies need to know how to interpret and understand the data. As officers spend time completing RIPA forms, that is time not spent on proactive and community-based policing strategies, fulfilling an unfunded state mandate. This summit will offer insights into how the RIPA Board interprets the data and provide analytical insights into what the data means or doesn’t mean and how your agency needs to prepare for the data release to tell your story. The summit will also provide a path for reimbursement under SB 90 for the expenses associated to RIPA to include lost time, software, supervision and reporting.
This summit is especially important for chiefs and command staff to attend along with any data analysts in your agency who might be assisting. Even more stop data will need to be collected in 2024 due to the changes made by the RIPA board this year so having your plan in place now is important.
