An epidemic of police suicides continues to impact the policing profession. In 2021 alone, we lost approximately 153 officers to suicide. The data does not consider that the experts predict that these numbers can be underreported by a factor of 2.5. The statistics are alarming, as we are losing almost double the number of officers to suicide than in all other line of duty deaths combined.
