2024 Wellness Summit

Brought to you by the CPCA Wellness Committee, this is an event focused on addressing the physical, mental and emotional well-being of policing professionals. This summit aims to provide support, resources, and education to help personnel cope with the challenges and stresses associated with this demanding profession. Attendees will benefit from learning about contemporary strategies and emerging trends addressing organizational wellness, and department leaders will learn about proactive and practical approaches to creating a culture of wellness within their organizations as a trauma-informed leader.

Committing to a paradigm shift in policing involves a deliberate and comprehensive effort to enact and embrace a culture of wellness within the organization. An epidemic of police suicides continues to impact the policing profession. According to the most recent and available data, in 2022 alone we lost approximately 156 officers to suicide. This data does not consider that the experts predict these numbers can be underreported by a factor of 2.5. The statistics are alarming, as we are losing almost double the number of officers to suicide than in all other line of duty deaths combined. This summit aims to encourage, educate and inspire organizations to embrace a culture of wellness.
