Recognizing the critical need for comprehensive mental health resources within law enforcement agencies, CPCA has forged a new path by establishing the first-of-its-kind Executive Peer Support Program. This innovative initiative seeks to provide a confidential and specialized support system specifically tailored to the unique challenges and stressors faced by police executives.

The Executive Peer Support Program is designed to offer a safe and confidential space for police chiefs to discuss the complexities of their roles, share experiences, and seek guidance from peers who understand the intricacies of executive leadership in law enforcement.

The CPCA acknowledges the generous support and collaboration of Cordico in the development and implementation of this pioneering program.

  • The Executive Peer Support Program is a confidential initiative established by the California Police Chiefs Association (CPCA) to provide specialized mental health and wellness support specifically tailored to the needs of police chiefs.

  • The main goal of the program is to create a safe and confidential space for law enforcement executives to engage in peer-to-peer discussions, share experiences, seek guidance, and access resources related to the unique challenges and stressors they encounter in their roles.

  • The program is exclusively designed for current & retired police chiefs who are members of the California Police Chiefs Association.

  • Peer support volunteers are current and retired chiefs who have received comprehensive, specialized peer support training.

  • The Executive Peer Support Program provides a platform for participants to discuss the complexities of their roles, address stress management, cope with critical incidents, and seek guidance on various challenges associated with executive leadership in law enforcement.

  • Yes, participation in the program is entirely voluntary and confidential. Law enforcement executives can choose to engage in discussions and activities as they see fit without any obligation.
