Serving as the voice and resource of choice for California’s law enforcement leaders.

What We Do

  • Events

The California Police Chiefs Association (CPCA) holds three large events each year. This includes the CPCA Annual Training Symposium (ATS), Women Leaders in Law Enforcement® (WLLE®) Symposium and our Executive Leadership Institute (ELI). Click below for more information about each, as well as information about the CPCA Hotel Room Block for IACP.

  • Education

The California Police Chiefs Association (CPCA) is pleased to offer educational courses for members and non-members of CPCA. The courses, which are all offered on multiple dates in various parts of California, range from one day to four days. We encourage you to sign up and take advantage of these great training opportunities which promise to provide personal and professional growth.

  • Advocacy

The California Police Chiefs Association (CPCA) advocates to improve the law enforcement profession, promote public safety, and to bring forward the concerns of our 332 Municipal Police Departments in California. Working with our Board of Directors and Legislative Committee, CPCA takes a position on bills impacting public safety and law enforcement. Our Political Action Committee reviews Senate, Assembly, Congressional, U.S. Senate and statewide office candidates for endorsement by our Board of Directors. Please see below for more information on our legislative platform and priorities, bill positions, press releases, and legal advocacy efforts. Click on the links for more information.

  • Industry Partners

CPCA partners with leading organizations whose objectives include the support of the profession and the broader law enforcement community.

The goal of the partnerships is to not only provide CPCA members with services, tools and resources to improve their skills, the impact they have on their organizations and the communities they serve, but to also provide our partners with a broader level of access and visibility across CPCA’s events and communication tools.

  • Career Center

Placing a career/classified advertisement on Cal Chiefs’ website is a great way to expand the market reach of your personnel search. Your ad will be posted on the CPCA website for 45 days and link to the CPCA Career page which goes out weekly in the President’s Message. In addition, a job specific bulletin with a direct link to your ad is emailed out to an audience that includes 332 municipal chiefs, over 300 command staff, and 2,000 women leaders in law enforcement at all levels.

  • Membership

Our members are the heart of the association and we are proud to offer countless benefits. As a CPCA member, you gain access to a network of experienced law enforcement leaders who are dedicated to fostering excellence and innovation in policing. It's not just a membership; it's a commitment to excellence in policing and a testament to your dedication to serving and protecting your community.
