Effective police executives align purpose, people, and organizational systems to set direction, navigate competing demands, and exercise authority consistent with constitutional principles, professionalism, and public trust. This POST-certified course equips current and aspiring police executives with foundational leadership frameworks and practical strategies for leading a police organization, especially when facing uncertainty and high-consequence decisions.

Using CPCA’s COPS Leadership Framework—Curiosity, Onboarding, People, and Storytelling—participants learn to examine assumptions with curiosity, strengthen their executive mindset, lead people with greater awareness, and communicate through purposeful storytelling. Through applied learning and case studies, participants expand their leadership toolkit and takeaway practical strategies for leading people and policing organizations.
